Solutions for the Digitalization of Image Documentation in Surgery, Outpatient Clinics and Day Clinics

HCI offers software and hardware solutions for comprehensive image data management of non-radiological imaging modalities, enabling smooth and automatic connection to the Electronic Patient Record. We integrate existing and future medical systems into the hospital-wide image and data management infrastructure. Older analog devices such as endoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, or EEG systems often operate independently of the hospital IT infrastructure. This results in additional costs and time required to manage patient records, reports, images, and videos, and to integrate them into the Electronic Patient Record or the Hospital Information System (HIS). HCI provides a modern and flexible digitalization strategy for use in surgery, outpatient clinics, and ambulatory care. Even non-DICOM-compliant imaging systems and cameras can be retrofitted to enable archiving in the Electronic Patient Record. The systems are digitized and integrated into the existing PACS/VNA archive management system via a DICOM-compliant worklist protocol and DICOM storage service.

ASMIS Video Server Software: Surgical Media Content Management

ASMIS serves as a central repository for surgical images and videos, acting as middleware between operating room imaging systems and the hospital’s long-term archive (e.g., PACS).

Its primary objective is to prevent hospital archives from being overloaded with unnecessary or irrelevant video recordings. Instead, only video sequences relevant for clinical documentation are transferred.

To achieve this, ASMIS provides a range of intelligent and largely automated features designed to streamline surgical workflows. The system was developed in close collaboration with surgeons, biomedical engineers, and hospital IT specialists to ensure maximum practical relevance and seamless integration into diverse medical device and IT environments.

Our Product Portfolio
